Dinosaurs Eggshells

Are they the true key to understand dinosaurs thermophysiology?

For long time the attempts to determine the body temperature of dinosaurs  focussed on using the stable isotope composition of bones and teeth.

However, these two components are located in peripheral portions of the body and thus, not only they can be influenced by environment temperature, but they do might not be able to detect the true temperature of the core.
On the other hand, eggs are produced exactly at the center of the body and therefore are better shielded from any external influence.

Here at Goethe University we decide to apply Clumped Isotope Thermometry directly to dinosaurs eggshells to overcome these obstacles.
